he first person to clearly explain the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart was my friend Tom. I was talking about reprobates with my dad earlier and it’s a very scary subject! Just look at how Pharaoh’s life matches up with Romans 1:20-28.
“Pharaoh the reprobate”
1.Pharaoh was a polytheist Romans 1:25
2.God makes himself known unto Pharaoh through Moses. (Exodus 5:3 Romans 1:20)
3.Pharaoh rejected God Romans 1:21,Romans 1:28,Exodus 5:2.
When Pharaoh heard the Lord’s name he said “And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.”
4.Pharaoh was mercifully warned exodus 5:3. Before God judges anyone, He out of his mercy will send messengers unto that individual or nation to warn of coming judgment. It is up to the person or nation to repent from their sin in order to stop the coming judgment.
6.Because Pharaoh rejected God His heart was hardened. Romans 1:28
Out of God’s mercy he sent Moses and Aaron (door knockers)to declare to Pharaoh Who God is.
GOD is not the many gods of pharaoh. God is the God of the Hebrews. But due to Pharaoh’s rejection of God, his heart was hardened and came into an unrepentant state of a reprobate. Pharaoh like so many today who reject The Lord will no longer feel the push to accept Christ. God’s Holy Spirit convicts man unto repentance. To constantly reject the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin.
In Matthew 12:31-32 we read “
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” To reject the Holy Spirit constantly damns a soul to hell permanently.
The subject of the reprobate is a very interesting and scary subject. When Person rejects God and everything that has to do with God he is turned over to a reprobate mind.A reprobate is a result of a person rejecting God. A reprobate person has been granted free will to do as he or she wishes without any moral conscience or care for their actions.
A reprobate is also unrepentant of the consequences his sin reaps.
1.Pharaoh did not come to repentance after his sin caused the curse of his nation
2.the sodomite did not stop to care that his very sin is what led to his blindness (Genesis 19:11)
3. The sodomite today is Not regretful that his sin gave him AIDS.
4. A reprobate no longer sees a need for a Savior because the Lord handed over to vile affections. The Lord stopped talking to that aggressive rejector and in turn let that individual turn to his own ultimate choice. When the Lord stops talking to that rejector, he will no longer have the desire to be saved and is forever doomed and on his way to hell!!
