Cleaving unto unanswerable gods.

God showed me something good this morning. Thank you Hänszell Mortleyfor adding the Application and outline for me.
Title “Cleaving unto unanswerable gods.
1 Chronicles 5:20,1st Chronicles 5:25.
Background: Here we see three tribes of Israel Reuben,Gad and Manasseh crying unto God for victory during the battle with the Hagarites. God heard, the Reuben, Manasseh and Gad and gave them victory over the Hagarites.
Application: During our circumstances will we trust God to deliver us from scenarios, it may not be a battle, however, in this present life we face spiritual battles, trials, and frustration/worry but when God does deliver us we turn away from him.
Outline: in this passage one can see that they put their trust in a resounding God but turn their backs on a God, now their lessons will teach us to remember a our loving God
1. They put their trust in an answerable God. Brethen many times we put our TRUST In an answerable God through prayer and were helped. God does hear( 1st Peter3:12)our prayers, therefore we can TRUST Him.
2. Forsaking the Saviour for unanswerable gods.(Psalm 135:16-18). Gad, Reuben and Manasseh forgot God who gave them victory in battle. These tribes of Israel went whoring after the gods of their defeated enemy. It is interesting that these three tribes of Israel went after gods who couldn’t save their fallen enemy in battle. Sadly we do the same thing. How many of us asked God to rescue us from a debt, sickness, a wicked boss and get victory over a test and go right to an idol that never helped us. That idol could be bad music, porn, skipping church for an activity etc. Also remember that Satan is already a defeated foe (revelations 20:10) so why are we listening to Satan’s music knowing that he will be cast into hell.
3. Remember our Lord. The best way to remember what God has done for us is to continually thank God for what he as done for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:18,Colossians 3:17Philippians 4:6 and Ephesians 5:20 are some examples of being thankful to God in prayer.
